Mudd's Women

Trying a new format today, the previous one was a little repetitive, plus we don't need to know every scene Kirk and Spock is in. Today's episode, "Mudd's Women", will be grouped by location.

Bridge

Known: Eddie Paskey

Unknown: Bobby, Navigator (#52)

Eddie is the first appearing extra in this episode, at the bridge engineering station as usual. At the environmental engineering stations is familiar crewman Bobby. We also get a glimpse of an unknown navigator, but it's not Bill Blackburn.

Sickbay

Known: Eddie Paskey as Connors

Eddie is never content to be in only one uniform, so he shows up in sickbay wearing a command jumpsuit. (It should've been blue, really!) McCoy calls him Connors and hurries him to leave. He takes a good look at Ruth's "cargo" before doing so.

Corridor

Known: Frank da Vinci, Ron Veto, Eddie Paskey

Unknown: Bobby, 2 crewmen in command jumpsuits (#53, 54), 2 crewwomen in operations uniforms (#55, 56), 2 crewmen in command uniforms (#57, 58), 1 crewman in sciences uniform (#59), 1 crewwoman in sciences uniform (#60)

The corridor scenes with the male extras ogling Mudd's women feature quite a few extras, some of them familiar. We start with a close-up of Bobby. We can also see Frank da Vinci and Ron Veto. Later we get a quick glimpse of Eddie Paskey walking by outside the briefing room, this time wearing a gold uniform. One of the crewmen seen (#58) will return in "The Naked Time", where he'll be the victim of Sulu's fencing antics.

Briefing Room

Known: Frank da Vinci

Unknown: Crewman in sciences uniform (#61)

We get our best close-up of Frank da Vinci so far, but they could've given him a better haircut. His security guard persona will be named "Vinci" in "The Devil in the Dark". An unidentifiable crewman in a blue uniform walks by just as the doors open.

The Corbomite Maneuver

Bridge Scene

Known: Leonard Nimoy as Spock, Anthony Call as Bailey, George Takei as Sulu, Nichelle Nichols as Uhura, Eddie Paskey, Ron Veto, Frank da Vinci

This scene features the first use of stock footage of Sulu looking at the view screen, as seen from the Captain's chair. It is my belief that the navigator in this footage is played by Frank da Vinci. Eddie Paskey is seen at what his to become his regular location at the engineering station on the bridge. Ron Veto can be seen as the crewman in a sciences uniform at the environmental engineering station. There is a nice overhead shot panning from Spock's station to the helm.

Sickbay Scene

Known: William Shatner as Kirk, DeForest Kelley as McCoy, Eddie Paskey

A mysterious shadow that looks a lot like the profile of Eddie Paskey walks by when Kirk exits sickbay.

Leslie

Corridor Scene

Known: William Shatner as Kirk, Frank da Vinci, William Blackburn

Unconfirmed: Mittie Lawrence as female crewwoman in command uniform (#27)

Unknown: Crewwoman in command uniform (#28), 2 crewmen in operations jumpsuits (#29, 36), crewman in operations uniform (#30), Bobby, 2 crewwomen in operations uniforms (#31, 34), 2 crewmen in command jumpsuits (#32, 37), crewman in utility vest (#33), crewman in command uniform (#35)

Someone over at Memory Alpha has speculated that the dark haired crewwoman (#27) was played by Mittie Lawrence. Frank da Vinci and William Blackburn debuts properly here, possibly as Brent and Hadley. The unknown extra playing "Bobby" (the name is from The Man Trap) can be seen in the far end of the corridor when Kirk enters. One crewman (#33) wears a strange looking utility vest that would not be used often. He is also carrying a prop he appears to be talking into.

Kirk's Quarters

Known: William Shatner as Kirk, Frank da Vinci

As Kirk leaves his quarters a blue shirted crewman walks by. This is most likely Frank da Vinci, but unconfirmed.

Brent, Kirk

Unconfirmed: John Gabriel as crewman in command uniform (#38)

Unknown: Crewman in sciences uniform (#39)

Speculation again from Memory Alpha that John Gabriel plays #38.

Briefing Room Scene

Known: William Shatner as Kirk, Leonard Nimoy as Spock, Anthony Call as Bailey, DeForest Kelley as McCoy, George Takei as Sulu, James Doohan as Scott, Nichelle Nichols as Uhura, William Blackburn

As the crew leave the briefing room we get a quick glimpse of what appears to be William Blackburn walking by in the corridor.

Unconfirmed: John Gabriel as crewman in command uniform (#38)

We get a better look at his face and can confirm that it is Ron Veto at the environmental engineering station.

Corridor Scene

Known: Ron Veto, Eddie Paskey

Unknown: 2 crewmen in operations uniforms (#30, 40), 2 crewmen in command jumpsuits (#32, 41), 2 crewwomen in operations uniforms (#31, 34) crewman in operations jumpsuit (#36), crewman in utility vest (#33), crewman in command uniform (#35), crewwoman in command uniform and trousers (#48)

This is mostly the same extras as in the first corridor scene, with the addition of a redshirted crewman (#40) and a crewman in a green jumpsuit (#41).

Unknown: Bobby, 2 crewmen in sciences uniforms (#42, 43)

Two character wearing The Cage/Where No Man Has Gone Before style uniforms can be seen in this scene. The African-American crewman can possibly be the same as #17 from Where No Man Has Gone Before.

Unknown: 2 crewmen (#44, 45)

Two shadowy crewmen walk by when Janice enters Kirk's quarters with a tray of "green leaves".

Bridge and Corridor Scenes

Known: William Shatner as Kirk, Leonard Nimoy as Spock, Anthony Call as Bailey, George Takei as Sulu, James Doohan as Scott, Nichelle Nichols as Uhura, Eddie Paskey, William Blackburn, Frank da Vinci, Ron Veto, Jeannie Malone

Unknown: Bobby, crewwoman in command uniform (#28)

A shot showing Scotty walking up to Leslie's station occurs before his arrival on the bridge. The scenes depicting crewmen listening to Kirk over the intercom contain several continuity problems. All extras with the exception of Jeannie Malone are simultaneously appearing on the bridge wearing different uniforms. Also there are two distinct cutaways featuring crewmen in different positions, inferring that we are seeing two different corridors or decks. However, the people in both shots are the same! William Blackburn turns up on the bridge and replaces Ron Veto at the environmental engineering station.

Corridor Scenes

Known: William Blackburn

Unconfirmed: Mittie Lawrence as crewwoman in command uniform (#27)

Unknown: Crewman in utility vest (#33), crewwoman in command uniform and trousers (#48), 2 crewmen in operations uniforms (#30, 40), crewman in command jumpsuit (#32), 2 crewmen in operations jumpsuits (#29, 36), 2 crewmen in command uniforms (#49, #50), 2 crewwomen in operations uniforms (#31, 34), crewman in sciences uniform (#51)

As the Enterprise attempts to break free of the pilot vessel's tractor beam we are treated to more shots of crewmen being flung back and forth in a corridor. Blackburn appears here, but many of the numbers I've assigned are pure guesswork. I think the extras are pretty convincing here in emulating the ship being shook from side to side.

Transporter Room Scene

Known: William Shatner as Kirk, Anthony Call as Bailey, DeForest Kelley as McCoy, James Doohan as Scott

Unknown: Transporter technician (#29)

In the early episodes the transporter technician is always Asian for some reason. This is true for The Cage, Where No Man Has Gone Before and The Corbomite Maneuver. We could see him earlier in the corridor working on a wall mounted piece of equipment.
